15 Day Book Blogger Challenge: Day 14 & 15

It’s Day 15 guys!!!!! I can’t believe I managed to fall into schedule. I really thought that I would go a day over or something. But I still have 30 minutes to make this post ūüôā¬† Yeah, scratch that, I totally messed up the post. And then forgot about Day 15 so I am updating it now..

So like I said in Day 13, I knew I was going to buddy up Day 14 with Day 15. So that’s what I’m going to do.

Day 14: Tell us your deal breakers

Well I’m not sure if the deal breaker is good or bad but I’ll just put both!

My Genres: dystopian, fantasy, sci-fi, paranormal, etc. If the book is anywhere in those areas then¬† I’m definitely considering it.

Their species: mermaids, fairies, angels, Martians, all of that good stuff.

If it’s familiar: If I’ve read books by the author before then I’ll definitely get it. And if it reminds me of a book I’ve read before (or a friend has read) then I’ll get it

Pretty covers: I had to add it ūüôā I always pick up the pretty looking books first.

Boring Covers: If the cover makes me yawn then I probably won’t get it.

Endings: If the end of the book sucks then it will ruin my whole perception of it. I will rate it badly just because of the ending

Beginning: The same goes with beginnings, if the beginning is boring then there is a slim chance that I will read the rest. But I will try my best to continue reading…And if it doesn’t get good towards the middle of the book then I’ll stop. But I need to get hooked!!

Day 15: Who are your book blogging mentors?

I have a couple that I’ve learned from. The first book blog that I came across was I Am A Reader, Not A Writer.

That is the blog that inspired me to get mine going.

Another is Cuddlebuggery Book Blog. Her header is so pretty, someday I hope I’ll learn to make something like that¬† because web designing is way out of my league!

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge: Day 12 & 13

I totally forgot about this.. I was in the zone reading all day, I’m reading Nearly Broken by Devon Ashley and I am so close to finishing it! Although I only have 30 minutes, I’m just going to say that I’m posting Day 14 with Day 15 tomorrow..

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Good Books And Good Wine

Day 12: How do you deal with blogger fatigue?

I never really had it in the first place. I love blogging! Maybe because it’s still my first year, but boy I hope I don’t ever get it. I would hate to feel like I need to blog instead of just wanting to blog…

Day 13: Describe one underappreciated book EVERYONE should read.

I seriously have to think about that. I think all the books I’ve read and loved, were appreciated in the first place.

6933138[1]I mean I think maybe one of my favorite¬†books that isn’t that popular is Warped by Maurissa Guibord

It’s a book for girls and boys. It’s fantasy and a love story, but there’s enough action in it for a guy. And I fell in love with the book. I wish there was a second one!

15 Day Book Blogging Challenge: Day 8 & 9

Sorry, guys! I really thought I was doing good, too.. I just can’t seem to get a 3 day streak.

Anyways, for those of you who don’t know what the 15 Day Book Blogging Challenge is it’s hosted by April at Good Books and Good Wine, so go over there and check it out!

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Good Books And Good Wine

Quick! Write 15 bullet points of things that appeal to you on blogs!

  1. Appearance: The blog has to look at least a little bit well taken care of. It’s kind of like your home. You have to make it look nice for the company. Which means the company has to be comfortable at your blog, it should be easy on the eyes and even more easier to find things.
  2. Search: Search boxes are very helpful. If I’m looking for a specific post on your blog and you don’t have a search box then it’s likely that I will just go look on a different blog.
  3. Fast Loading: And by fast loading I mean as fast as my computer can load. Which isn’t very fast but it just makes it slower when there’s a ton of moving¬†crap clustered on the sidebars. And different graphics.
  4. No sound: My computer loads slow enough as it is. Sound makes it freeze up. Not to mention it scares the hell out of me. Please no sound or music.
  5. Following: The follow buttons should all be together, and easy to find. It irks me when I have to go all the way down to the bottom of the page just to find a follow button. It almost makes me just want to forget about it.
  6. Rants: I love to hear other people rant about books. Sometimes I think it’s just me and I know that some people don’t like rants, it isn’t professional or something. I love them, though!
  7. Personality: I love knowing that the person behind the blog isn’t a robot! That the person is in fact a friendly human with a great sense of humor.
  8. CAPTCHA: Sometimes I don’t even post my comment because of this stupid thing. Bloggers, you can remove this!
  9. Consistency: It’s nice to give your followers something to actually¬†look at. It’s really sad when I see that a blogger hasn’t posted anything for a few weeks. I think it makes the blog sad too. It makes him feel abandoned, smh.
  10. Comment: I like to see that the blogger is interested in what their followers have to say. One way of doing that is by replying to their comments.
  11. Grammar: I get that we all¬†have typos. But when there’s a line of misspelled words… This irks me.¬†I am a grammar Nazi! Do you hear me? Grammar. Nazi. I have to force myself not to correct other people’s posts and comments because I see a misspelled word. I don’t like being rude, neither do I want to come across as rude.
  12. Color: Bright colors are fine. I actually encourage the use of bright colors,¬†but I don’t like black and white or just really dark colored blogs, which makes it¬†hard to read.
  13. Font: This goes along with appearance. If you have a fancy font, make sure it’s readable. Especially for people who can’t see… Or needs glasses but doesn’t wear them. Haha guilty.
  14. About Me: I like to look at the bloggers about me. I don’t know if that’s weird or not but you never know! That could be your next best friend.
  15. Vlogs: This is definitely not a requirement. I just enjoy listening to my fellow bloggers talk about books over Youtube, or anywhere else but their blog for a change (: The Hardcover Obsession does some pretty cool book talks over YouTube! I’m itching to do that, but I have so much going on. I’m planning to do it next month, for sure!

Next is explaining why I blog about books.  Day 9

This one is going to be quick because it’s pretty simple. I’m a booklover. I believe I’ll love books until the day I die, and maybe even in the afterlife, too! I just feel the need to share my love of books with the world. And my little group of friends wasn’t enough people, so I made this blog in attempt to get others to read about all the awesome books I’m fortunate enough to read ūüôā

15 Day Book Blogging Challenge: Day 7

What I’m going to talk about tonight is my blogging quirks. I think it’s too early in the year for me to find out about all of my blogging quirks but I’ll just say what I think is right..

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Good Books And Good Wine

  • Right after reading a book, I zoom to my computer and post¬†my¬†review on goodreads. And when I’m free I post it on my blog.
  • Before I started blogging I didn’t know how to use the html and CSS formats. Now I use them all the time.
  • I put sticky notes on pages that interests or outrages me while reading a book. Because my memory is awful and I know I won’t remember it after I’m done reading.
  • I¬†don’t type my reviews in Word. I just type it all in wordpress and tweak it as I go.
  • I say “so”, “anyways”, and “guys” too much.
  • I force myself not to use smiley faces in a post even though I’m smiling. I also force myself not to say “haha” even though in reality I would be laughing when saying it out loud.
  • GIFs are my best friend! (When I say GIF I don’t say G.I.F)¬†I love them to death, but I force myself not to use too many.

That’s about it. Although it’s 11pm wordpress is going to tell me its the 15th of July in which I will be very mad because that means that I didn’t get the post up in time. Sigh..I still think it counts.

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge: Day 4

It tis day four! I’m really surprised that I have made it this far. If I make it to day 15 alive and active, we are all throwing a celebration!!

Today we talk about the last book that has outraged you so much that you threw it across the room.¬† I don’t know if people do this usually but this has only happened to me three times. If this hasn’t happened to you then you need to start reading more intense books! Unless you’re just the type of person that has self-control. In that case, you deserve a golden star for not rationally reacting to a very emotional book. Ok so I know the prompt says the last book, but what the hell. I’m going to tell ALL THREE books, because I’m a rebel!

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Good Books And Good Wine

The last book was Sweet Thing by Renee Carlino

17609127[1]¬†Ok so I didn’t REALLY throw it.. It was an ebook and there was no way in hell that I was going to throw my precious phone. If there is anything that is more important to me than physical books, it’s my phone. Because, some people can’t afford 10 Kindles. Nope, I can’t even afford one. So for now I’m stuck with the Kindle app.

But believe me, I mentally threw my phone at the wall on the other end of my room. And then got up and stomped on it.¬† This book is so….UGH!

I can’t even begin to tell you guys how mad I was at Will for what he did.

I was on a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the whole book. It’s one of my favorites. You can read my review, here.

Another book was The Keepers: Archer by Rae Rivers

KeeperThis was also an ebook. So I sadly did not get to chuck it at a rock. It made me very mad because the main character, Sienna, was so damn girly. I felt like she was ruining everything. And I was a tad bit jealous that she had three hot boys flocking her all the time. And I swear all she would do was complain about them. I would be more than willing to take her place! Haha anyways, you can read my review, here. Along with an excerpt.

The last book is Torment (Fallen #2) by Lauren Kate

7740152[1]I actually did throw this across the room. I feel kind of guilty now that I think of it because it was a library book…

I couldn’t stand it, though! I threw it because of how boring it was. I loved Fallen so much. Just, after this book I couldn’t finish the series. To me the series went nowhere. And Daniel was being a major jerk. I just couldn’t read anymore of it…

Well that’s it! I’d love to hear about any books that you couldn’t bear to finish. Or that lead you on a rollercoaster of emotions. Comment with your 15 day book blogging challenge and I’ll stop by and check it out!

This really cool woman with this really cool name is hosting this really cool challenge and I am happy to say that I jumped on board. Go check it out on April’s blog Good Books and Good Wine. Basically, you follow a different writing prompt each day for 15 days. And of coarse the prompts are totally book related.

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Good Books And Good Wine

Day 1: Make 15 Book Related Confessions

1. I always judge books by their covers. ALWAYS. If the book has a pretty sparkly cover then I’ll read the description and probably still get it, just so I can put it on my shelf and admire it. Before you start shaking your head in disapproval, know that I pick up the boring-looking books, too! I give all books a chance. It all comes down to if it’s interesting to me.

2. I’m an angel lover. Fallen angels, guardian angels, angels sent on missions. You name it, I’ve read it. Or either I’ve ben wanting to read it. Fallen by Lauren Kate, Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick, and I guess The Mortal Instruments series is supposed to have angels in it, too? I’m currently reading A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davis that has to do with angels.

3. I always fall for the good guy. Most girls fall for the heartbreakers, and I don’t really get that. The fact that he’s a cocky womanizer¬†doesn’t prove much. It just tells me that he’s a player and towards the middle of the book he’s going to break the poor girls heart somehow. The boy who follows the rules and has manners makes me like him. It actually makes me looove him. It’s very…swoon-worthy.

4.I take my fictional boyfriend(s) seriously. If you don’t like him, I’ll try my best to like you but it probably won’t happen. I treasure them too much to break up over some silly girl (:

5. Book to Movie. If I’ve read the book I have to watch the movie. And when I watch the movie I always look for parts they didn’t include from the book. If the movie sucked, I still get it just because I read the book.

6. I read the Twilight Saga. And I loved it. I read the books before it was a big deal. And¬†I personally hated the movie. Kristen Steward is a very crappy actress, and I think the movie would’ve gone further if she would have just fallen off of a waterfall. But I still got all of the movies because I have all of the books!

7. I despise ebooks. I like to feel the book in my hand instead of a piece of metal. I like the smell of new books and the feeling when you open it up to the first page. I do have the kindle app, though. I know the time will come when I’ll have to get an actual Kindle because too man things require ebooks..

8. I feel guilty when I look at my TBR shelf on Goodreads. I have 1,497 books. I want to read every single one of them! There’s just not enough hours in the day..

9. I get agitated when anyone disturbs me from reading. Which is about 75% of the time. But still! It just makes me want to run them over with a bus full of bananas.

10. I have troubles remembering title names. I have no problem remembering what the book was about or what category it’s supposed to be in.

11. I can tell you what happened in every book I read from beginning to end. If I know what book you’re talking about, and if you know that I read it.

12. I force myself to only pick up about three books from the library, knowing that I have a bunch of books at home to read.

13. I sort my shelves from non prettiest covers to most prettiest covers. I put the ugly covers in the back and pull the interesting looking covers in the front so everyone can see them.

14. If I’m reading a book I don’t like,¬† I force myself to finish it. It just takes a very long time.

15. Reading and blogging are my hobbies. I have more followers than I do friends. And none of my friends know that I have a blog. It’s like a double identity

Well that’s it! And it took waaay longer than I thought it would. Come back later on today for what is supposed to be Day 2’s post. I have awful timing, I just knew that this post would be up yesterday. Anyways, I’d love to hear your book confessions in the comments!

I'm just starting out; leave me a comment or a like :)
