Review: Insurgent by Veronica Roth

Goodreads Description: One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris’s initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

My (Jany’s) Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Jany’s Review:

Everybody has to read this! The second book didn’t get any less boring than the first one! And a good quote that I discovered from The Fault In Our Stars:

It seems I’m giving out a lot of 5’s today… But The Fault In Our Stars was heartfelt and made you think, whereas Insurgent was action packed and VERY suspenseful with a dash of romance. Two totally different books and a two totally different genres that now both have an equal place in my heart (and shelf!).

I can honestly say that I like Insurgent better than Divergent. Insurgent has plenty more battles, so it isn’t like the action stops and the book gets boring. More people are introduced, serious relationship problems. Very important people…0 and it was just the best ending! THE BEST ENDING!! The. Best. Ending. Ok I’m getting repetitive. Stopping…for now.

So I’m going to force my boyfriend, John, to also share his thoughts about the book! Since we read this together, chapter by chapter.. fun fun.

John’s Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

John’s Review:

I really enjoyed this sequel, even more than the first book! I loved that it was much more action packed than “Divergent”! The momentum left at the end of the first book only picked up more and more as I went on. It’s interesting and very exciting throughout the book to see Tris’ relationship with herself, Tobias, and everyone close to her change immensely. The character changes along with the plot itself, and all that sexy action, make for some delicious brain-food! I highly recommend this trilogy to anyone and everyone, and I can’t wait to read the next and final book with you my love! 😉

Jany: Couldn’t have said it better myself, sweet cheeks! That’s it for tonight ^_^

We’re definitely getting the next book in the very near future and so should you lovely people!!
